A study from Lorna Linda University discovered that dieters who had almonds as part of their daily menu shed sixty-two percent more weight and fifty-six percent more fat than those who didn’t. For years and years, almonds have been one of the most-bought nuts in the market. They have become a popular ingredient for cakes, cookies, pastries, candies, and chocolate treats.

When it comes to dieting, however, raw almonds are the way to go. The fiber in nuts keeps the body from absorbing some amount of fat, which is the reason why many people find that it is an effective and rather enjoyable treat to have almonds for weight loss. Almonds and other nuts can actually give you a feeling of fullness, which then keeps you from craving for excess food. These nuts are actually a rather affordable and cheap weight loss snack for anyone who wants to curb their craving for calories.

Aside from being able to shed off those pounds almonds also give the benefit of reducing blood pressure, a condition which usually accompanies obesity and diabetes. Also, almonds contain vitamin E, a popular antioxidant that helps keep skin looking young and healthy, and lowers cancer risk as well.

Almonds for Weight Loss: How Much do you Eat?

So how will you know how much of these nuts you should take in order to be able to reap the benefits? One and a half ounces – that’s about thirty-five pieces – should be enough to eat daily. Almonds can be eaten raw or roasted, not fried in fat or added to pastries and chocolate. Such other ingredients will result in weight gain by introducing more calories.
