A recent study shows that people who reach the quota of 1-2 liters (8 glasses) of water a day lose more excess weight and fat than those who drink less. Before this, scientists and health experts have not been able to link water intake and weight loss. To explain, they say that well-hydrated cells speed up metabolism and thereby hasten caloric burning.

Apparently, keeping yourself well-hydrated throughout the day will not only benefit your overall health but can also be a very good - not to mention cheap - weight loss method to use. You don't have to gulp down one liter in an instant; distribute your water intake throughout the day. When you feel like drinking soda or a milkshake, take water instead. The sugar in sweetened drinks will make you even more thirsty.

Hydration Tips and Tricks

How do you know if you're hydrated enough? Check the color of your pee. The darker it is, the more water you need. Light yellow to colorless urine is a good indicator of adequate water intake and hydration.

Another thing you could do is consider purchasing a 1.5L water bottle that you can carry around with you, and keep in mind to consume that throughout the day. There's no need to count to eight glasses. Truthfully that's exhausting.

So next time you want to grab a soda or a beer, take pure and natural water instead. It costs less, and definitely won't end up as extra baggage in your waist and thighs.
